Obiettivi formativi
In linea con gli obiettivi formativi specifici e qualificanti del Corso di Laurea in Culture e Letterature del Mondo Moderno per l’area linguistica e letteraria, l’insegnamento fornisce gli strumenti critici adatti all’analisi linguistica di diverse tipologie testuali, alla pratica della traduzione dal francese all’italiano e all’espressione creativa in lingua francese. Proponendo un programma di livello base, destinato ai principianti e a coloro che devono seguire la prima annualità di lingua francese, esso consente di consolidare le conoscenze necessarie ad accedere alla seconda annualità (Lingua e traduzione francese B - livello avanzato).
In accordance with the specific and qualifying training objectives of the Degree Course in Culture e Letterature del Mondo Moderno for the linguistic and literary area, the course provides the critical tools suitable for the linguistic analysis of different textual typologies, the practice of translation from French into Italian and the creative expression in French. Offering a basic level programme, intended for beginners and those who must follow the first year of French, it consolidates the knowledge necessary to access the second year (French Language and Translation B - advanced level).

Risultati dell'apprendimento attesi
Al termine dell’insegnamento, gli/le studenti dovranno dimostrare di aver acquisito le seguenti competenze:
a) conoscenza e capacità di comprensione – saper tradurre correttamente dal francese estratti di testi letterari in prosa moderni e contemporanei; saper comprendere e analizzare dal punto di vista linguistico testi orali e scritti appartenenti a divere tipologie (descrittiva, narrativa, esplicativa, argomentativa, dialogale);
b) capacità di applicare conoscenza e comprensione – saper applicare le conoscenze teoriche sulla pratica della traduzione e orientarsi attraverso le principali tappe della storia della pratica traduttiva in Francia; dimostrare di aver acquisito le competenze procedurali richieste (prendere appunti, sintetizzare una o più tematiche, definire una problematica e sostenere un’argomentazione) attraverso la redazione di brevi testi creativi;
c) autonomia di giudizio – individuare le strategie idonee a raggiungere le competenze espressive richieste; elaborare collegamenti testuali e culturali idonei;
d) abilità comunicative – esporre i contenuti dell’insegnamento in un francese corretto, operando sintesi, collegamenti e approfondimenti;
e) capacità di apprendimento – aver sviluppato delle soft skills nell’area del compito (pianificazione, precisione, problem solving, puntualità) e del sé (creatività, intraprendenza, apprendimento continuativo, capacità di lavorare in gruppo).
By the end of the course, students are expected to have acquired the following competences:
(a) knowledge and comprehension skills - being able to correctly translate from French extracts of modern and contemporary prose literary texts; being able to understand and analyse from a linguistic point of view oral and written texts belonging to different types (descriptive, narrative, explanatory, argumentative, dialogical);
b) ability to apply knowledge and comprehension - to be able to apply theoretical knowledge about translation practice and to orientate oneself through the main stages in the history of translation practice in France; to demonstrate that he/she has acquired procedural skills (taking notes, summarising one or more themes, defining a problem and supporting an argument) through the drafting of short creative texts;
c) autonomy of judgement - identify appropriate strategies to achieve the required expressive skills; elaborate appropriate textual and cultural connections;
d) communication skills - presenting teaching content in correct French, making syntheses, links and in-depth studies;
e) learning skills - having developed soft skills in the areas of the task (planning, precision, problem solving, punctuality) and the self (creativity, resourcefulness, continuous learning, ability to work in a team).

L’insegnamento (72 ore) propone lezioni teoriche (36 ore circa) e attività seminariali (36 ore circa).
Nella prima parte del corso (9 febbraio-21 marzo, docenza della prof.ssa Paola Cifarelli) le studentesse e gli studenti seguiranno il programma del corso di Lingua e traduzione francese A (6 cfu) e le indicazioni presenti a questo link: https://culture.campusnet.unito.it/do/corsi.pl/Show?_id=zkfu
Nella seconda parte del corso (20 aprile-30 maggio, docenza della prof.ssa Elisabetta Barale) si analizzeranno le caratteristiche linguistiche e i tratti stilistici di testi di tipo descrittivo, narrativo, dialogale, esplicativo e argomentativo che hanno come tema gli acquerelli realizzati tra il 1926 e il 1930 da Marc Chagall per illustrare le favole di Jean de La Fontaine. Per le studentesse e gli studenti frequentanti, lo studio dei testi esaminati avrà come scopo la scrittura collaborativa di testi creativi in lingua francese ispirati ai racconti di La Fontaine e alle opere di Chagall.

The course (72 hours) offers theoretical lectures (approx. 36 hours) and seminar activities (approx. 36 hours).
In the first part of the course (9 February-21 March, taught by Prof. Paola Cifarelli) students will follow the syllabus of the French Language and Translation A course (6 cfu) and the instructions given at this link: https://culture.campusnet.unito.it/do/corsi.pl/Show?_id=zkfu
In the second part of the course (20 April-30 May, taught by Prof. Elisabetta Barale), they will analyse the linguistic characteristics and stylistic features of descriptive, narrative, dialogical, explanatory and argumentative texts that focus on the watercolors painted between 1926 and 1930 by Marc Chagall to illustrate the fables of Jean de La Fontaine. For attending students, the study of the texts examined will aim at the collaborative writing of creative texts in French inspired by La Fontaine's tales and Chagall's works.

Modalità di insegnamento
L’insegnamento, che si terrà in lingua francese, prevede incontri trisettimanali durante i quali si alterneranno momenti di riflessione teorica ad attività seminariali che prevedono la partecipazione attiva delle studentesse e degli studenti. Le lezioni si svolgeranno unicamente in presenza, ma materiale didattico ed esercitazioni saranno resi disponibili sul Moodle del corso.
The course, which will be held in French, will consist of three-weekly meetings during which moments of theoretical reflection will alternate with seminar activities involving the active participation of students. Modalità di verifica dell'apprendimento
L’apprendimento è monitorato attraverso la partecipazione regolare ad attività in presenza e sulla piattaforma Moodle. Per le studentesse e gli studenti frequentanti, l’acquisizione degli obiettivi è verificata attraverso prove in itinere scritte. Anche per gli studenti non frequentanti la prova finale è scritta.

Per quanto riguarda le modalità di verifica dell’apprendimento della seconda parte del corso (prof.ssa Elisabetta Barale), le studentesse e gli studenti frequentanti riceveranno due valutazioni: una valutazione di gruppo sulla scrittura collaborativa dei testi creativi, il cui peso sul voto finale sarà indicativamente del 30% (a decrescere con l’aumentare delle assenze); una valutazione individuale a fine corso sull’analisi linguistica e stilistica di un testo. Chi non potesse partecipare alle lezioni e svolgere le prove sosterrà in corrispondenza degli appelli una prova scritta composta da tre domande sul manuale di Jean-Michel Adam, Les textes: types et prototypes, Paris, Armand Colin, 2017.
Per tutte le studentesse e gli studenti il voto finale risulterà dalla media dei voti ottenuti con le varie prove previste per il superamento dell’esame e con la prova di lettorato, obbligatoria.
Learning is monitored through regular participation in in-presence activities and on the Moodle platform. For attending students, the acquisition of the objectives is verified through written in itinere tests. For non-attending students the final exam will also consist in a written test.

For what concerns the learning assessment of the second part of the course (Prof. Elisabetta Barale), attending students will receive two assessments: a group assessment on the collaborative writing of creative texts, the weight of which on the final grade will be approximately 30% (decreasing as absences increase); an individual assessment at the end of the course on the linguistic and stylistic analysis of a text. Those who are unable to attend the lectures and pass the tests will take a written test consisting of three questions on the textbook by Jean-Michel Adam, Les textes: types et prototypes, Paris, Armand Colin, 2017.
For all students, the final mark will result from the average of the marks obtained in the various tests required to pass the exam and the Lettorato test.

1. LETTORATO

Gli studenti che intendono frequentare le lezioni di lettorato dovranno sostenere un Test di livello sulla piattaforma Moodle elearning. Link: https://elearning.unito.it/scienzeumanistiche/course/view.php?id=12327
Sarà possibile sostenere il test di livello dal 24 settembre ore 8.00 al 28 settembre ore 23.59, in qualsiasi momento, dal proprio computer.
Concluso il test, verrà assegnato un punteggio che consentirà l’accesso ad un determinato livello.
Gli studenti saranno suddivisi nei seguenti livelli:
- Débutant
- Faux-débutant
- Intemédiaire
- Avancé
Gli orari dei vari gruppi verranno comunicati a chiusura del test.
Chi è in possesso di certificazioni linguistiche è esonerato dal test di livello ma in alcun modo dall’esame di lettorato. Gli studenti in possesso di certificazione B2 o superiore potranno, dopo aver mandato una copia della certificazione tramite mail a anne.paris@unito.it , accedere direttamente al corso di livello avanzato.
Il test di livello non sostituisce in alcun modo la prova finale d’esame di lettorato.
2. Un laboratorio di espressione orale in lingua francese (18 ore, 2 ore a settimana), tenuto dalle prof.ssa Antonella Amatuzzi sarà attivato nel primo semestre per tutti coloro che necessitano di rafforzare le abilità di base. Il laboratorio prevederà attività settimanali soggette a una valutazione e potrà sostituire una parte delle prove d'esame.
3. È previsto anche un servizio di tutorato svolto da uno/a studente/essa che accompagnerà i/le discenti nella preparazione dei contenuti del corso. Informazioni a proposito verranno date in itinere dai docenti.
1. The annual French language course ("lettorato"), taught by a mother tongue teacher, allows students to improve their basic language skills. Attendance is not compulsory but it is highly recommended, especially for students who hdo not have a B1 level. The course lasts one year, starting in October; a placement test, will take place at the beginning of Academic year to have homogeneous classes.

The lettorato test consists of a listening test and a grammar test, corresponding to level B1 of the European reference framework.
Passing the lettorato test is compulsory for all students, but the exam concerning this course can be taken before or after the lettorato test.
2. A workshop on oral expression in French (18 hours, 2 hours per week), held by Prof. Antonella Amatuzzi will be activated in the first semester for all those who need to strengthen their basic skills in oral expression. The laboratory will include weekly activities subject to an evaluation and may replace part of the final exams.
3. In addition, there will also be a tutorship held by a senior student who will accompany the students in preparing the contents of the course.
