Obiettivi formativi
ll corso intende ripercorrere alcune tappe fondamentali della scrittura femminile dal 900 alla contemporaneità nell'ambito della Letteratura di espressione francese.
Il modulo si propone di consolidare le conoscenze della storia letteraria attraverso un percorso di lettura che renda conto della complessità e varietà dei fenomeni culturali ad essa legati; di approfondire le competenze di lettura critica dei testi; di fornire metodi e strumenti necessari all'analisi e all'interpretazione degli stessi.
L'insegnamento si inserisce nel generale obiettivo del corso di studio di fornire una conoscenza articolata e sistematica del mondo moderno nelle sue molteplici espressioni culturali e sviluppare l'osservazione e la valutazione critica dei diversi fenomeni espressivi ed artistici, soprattutto in forma comparata.
The course aims to retrace some fundamental stages of women’s writing from 900 to contemporary times in the context of French Literature.
This module aims to consolidate the knowledge of literary history through a reading itinerary which gives back the complexity and variety of cultural phenomena linked to literature; increase analysis skills; provide methods and critical tools needed to interprete literary texts.
The teaching is part of the general objective of the course of study to provide an articulated and systematic knowledge of the modern world in its multiple cultural expressions and to develop the observation and critical evaluation of the various expressive and artistic phenomena, especially in a comparative form.

Conoscenza e capacità di comprensione
Le studentesse e gli studenti saranno in grado di contestualizzare l'evoluzione della letteratura del XX e XXI secolo in relazione ai principali sviluppi storico-culturali dello spazio culturale francese e francofono. Sapranno cogliere temi e motivi specifici della letteratura contemporanea di lingua francese con terminologia adeguata e saranno in grado di approfondire i testi con opportuni metodi e strumenti di analisi. Avranno inoltre conoscenza di base di questioni teoriche e pratiche che riguardano la poesia, la narratologia e l'estetica teatrale.
Capacità di applicare conoscenza e comprensione e autonomia di giudizio
Occorrerà sviluppare autonomia e flessibilità nella comprensione dei temi letterari affrontati nel corso di questo modulo. Le studentesse e gli studenti potranno rispondere a domande di tipo interpretativo e non nozionistico su testi e contesti culturali, sviluppando capacità critica, autonomia e consapevolezza nello studio degli argomenti del corso.
Abilità comunicative
Studentesse e studenti dovranno dimostrare di saper esaminare comparativamente e criticamente testi ed argomentazioni comprendendone adeguatamente concetti, struttura e contesti.
Capacità di apprendimento
La componente studentesca dovrà mostrare di individuare autonomamente percorsi di approfondimento disciplinare, utilizzando nozioni e metodologie della critica letteraria e delle discipline affini. Dovrà ricercare fonti per la documentazione e saper utilizzare strumenti bibliografici, sia in forma tradizionale che in formato elettronico.
Acquired knowledge
At the end of the course, students will be able to contextualise the evolution of 20th and 21st century literature in relation to the main historical and cultural developments that occurred in the francophone cultural framework of the time; identify and describe key themes and motifs in the contemporary French literature using an appropriate terminology. They will also have basic knowledge of theoretical and practical issues concerning poetry, narratology and theatrical aesthetics.
Ability to apply knowledge and independent judgement
The course will provide students with a deeper understanding of the literary themes covered in class, which they will be able to analyse independently. Students will be able to answer interpretative questions about cultural texts and frameworks and they will develop critical awareness and intellectual autonomy of the main topics of the course.
Communicative abilities
Students will have to apply their analytical skills to the comparative and critical study of literary texts and key themes. They will also be able to demonstrate their ability to understand structures, ideas and contexts.
Learning abilities
Students will be asked to demonstrate their ability to independently identify key themes that allow deeper study by using literary criticism’s concepts and methodologies. They will get to know how to use bibliographical online and offline tools and how to find sources for their research.

Modalità di insegnamento
Sono previste 36 ore di insegnamento. Le lezioni del secondo modulo saranno tenute prevalentemente in lingua francese e si svolgeranno in aula con l'ausilio di tecnologie elettroniche (materiale audio, video, slides) al fine di stimolare la partecipazione diretta e il contributo individuale degli studenti.
There are 36 hours of teaching. The Lessons of the first module will be mainly in French. The reference texts will be in French. Lessons will take place in the classroom with the support of electronic technologies (slides and further materials) stimulating the students’ direct participation and also entailing their individual contribution.

Modalità di verifica dell'apprendimento
Conoscenze e capacità previste saranno verificate attraverso un colloquio orale con domande. La preparazione sarà considerata adeguata (con votazione espressa in trentesimi), se le studentesse e gli studenti dimostreranno capacità di esposizione, ricorrendo alla terminologia necessaria; se in modo autonomo - quindi, senza dipendere dalla presentazione degli argomenti offerta dai testi - proverà familiarità con i vari argomenti e problemi esposti nel corso; se, tra questi, riconosceranno o stabiliranno rapporti e collegamenti di interdipendenza; se sapranno considerarli nei rispettivi livelli di analisi, ambiti e rilievi concettuali.
Knowledge and skills will be verified by means of an oral examination based on questions. The preparation will be considered adequate (with a vote expressed in a scale from 18 to 30), if the students will demonstrate to express themselves in an appropriate way using the necessary terminology; if they will show familiarity with the various topics and problems discussed during the course in an autonomous way - i.e., without depending in a pedestrian way on the presentation of the topics offered by the texts; if - among these - they will be able to point out relations and interdependencies; if they will be able to consider them at their respective level of analysis, domain and conceptual relevance.

Anche se non è necessario ai fini del superamento dell'esame, si consiglia vivamente di frequentare il lettorato di francese con inizio nel primo semestre (ottobre 2025). I testi analizzati durante il corso verranno letti in lingua originale.
Alhtough not compulsory, it is recommanded to follow the "lettorato" courses; they will begin in October 2025. During the course, the texts will be read in French, with translation when needed.

"Il terzo sesso" della scrittura: la letteratura femminile di lingua francese tra XX e XXI secolo. Generi, stili, sperimentazioni.
Il corso intende esplorare il ruolo esercitato da alcune scrittrici dagli anni delle prime avanguardie storiche sino alla contemporaneità. In particolare si propone di esaminare l'apporto della scrittura femminile di espressione francese (in Francia e in Québec) all'evoluzione di poetiche e generi, mettendone in evidenza l'originalità e il contributo socio-culturale.
"The Third Sex" of Writing: French-Language Women's Literature between the 20th and 21st Centuries. Genres, styles and experiments.
The course aims to explore the role played by some women writers from the years of the first historical avant-gardes up to contemporary times. In particular, it aims to examine the contribution of women writers of French expression (in France and Quebec) to the evolution of poetics and genres, highlighting their originality and socio-cultural contribution.
