Obiettivi formativi
Il corso, che verrà erogato prevalentemente in italiano, mira a fornire un quadro complessivo dello sviluppo storico della lingua tedesca, tenendo presente sia la dimensione strettamente diacronica che quella più ampiamente storico-linguistica. In particolare, verranno forniti gli strumenti concettuali per indagare la formazione del nuovo alto tedesco fino all’epoca odierna con attenzione alla struttura della frase, alla linearizzazione dei costituenti e alla strutturazione in campi topologici, alla formazione del complesso verbale, all’effetto della pragmatica sul cambiamento linguistico.
The course, which will mainly be held in Italian, aims at providing a general picture of the historical development of the German language, taking into consideration the strictly diachronic dimension as well as the historical-linguistic perspective. In particular, the students will be provided with the conceptual instruments and the empirical methods necessary for investigating the rise of New High German until the present age, paying attention to the sentence structure, to the linearization of the constituents and to the structure of the topological fields, to the formation of the verbal complex, and finally to the effects of pragmatics on language change.

Gli studenti dovranno essere in grado di fornire un quadro complessivo della storia della lingua tedesca e dello sviluppo diacronico degli aspetti strutturali della lingua con particolare riferimento alla formazione del nuovo alto tedesco. Dovranno mostrare di aver compreso la periodizzazione della storia linguistica del tedesco e le sue motivazioni di carattere storico e diacronico. Dovranno essere in grado di affrontare testi di diversa provenienza storica e geografica, mettendone in evidenza le caratteristiche ed evidenziandone soprattutto gli aspetti sintattici. In quest’ambito, gli studenti dovranno essere in grado di ricostruire per grandi linee il processo diacronico di formazione della struttura sintattica del tedesco moderno tenendo presente la linearizzazione dei costituenti e la strutturazione in campi topologici della frase, la formazione del complesso verbale tedesco, l’effetto della pragmatica sul cambiamento sintattico.
The students will be required to provide a comprehensive picture of the history of the German language and of the diachronic development of its structural aspects with particular reference to the rise of New High German. They will have to show the periodization of the German linguistic history and its motivation on a historical and diachronic basis. Furthermore, they will be required to analyze texts of different historical and geographic origin, emphasizing their features with special reference to their syntactic aspects. In this regard, the students will have to reconstruct in outline the diachronic process which led to the formation of the syntactic structure of present-day German taking into consideration the linearization of the constituents and the organization in topological fields of the sentence, the formation of the verbal complex, as well as the effects of pragmatics on language change.

Modalità di insegnamento
Le lezioni saranno svolte principalmente in maniera tradizionale secondo una modalità orale, ma anche con l’impiego di tecnologie informatiche di supporto (slides e ulteriori materiali), che prevedono il coinvolgimento diretto degli studenti.
Adopting a traditional approach, the lessons will mainly be taught orally, but also with the support of informatics technologies (slides and further materials), which foster the students’ direct participation.

Modalità di verifica dell'apprendimento
La verifica dell’acquisizione delle competenze avverrà tramite un esame orale che verterà sugli argomenti del corso. Occorrerà comunque aver superato previamente la prova scritta che verifica la conoscenza di base della lingua tedesca (prova di lettorato). L'esame orale mirerà a verificare negli studenti la capacità di apprendimento per mezzo di domande ed esercizi tesi a indagare le conoscenze acquisite durante e dopo il corso sollecitando in particolare le capacità di elaborazione autonoma della materia.
The verification of the acquisition of the required competences will take place during an oral examination which will focus on the topics dealt with in the course. At any rate, in order to be admitted to the examination, it will be necessary to pass the written test for the language certification (test of lectorate). The oral examination will ascertain the students' learning capacities with the help of questions and excercises aiming at scrutinizing the knowledge gained during and after the course particularly stimulating their capacities of autonomous elaboration of the subject.

È auspicabile una conoscenza di base della lingua tedesca (livello A2 del quadro di riferimento europeo).
